Heating & Cooling Checklists

We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year should your heating or cooling system ever stop functioning.  However, you may wish to run through this checklist before calling.  It could save you the cost of a service call!


No Cooling Check List
1.)  Check your thermostat.  Is it set to the ‘cool’ position? 
      If not, set it to ‘cool’.

2.)  Check your circuit breaker.  Has it tripped to the ‘off’ position? 
      If so, reset the circuit breaker.

3.)  Check your filter.  Is it plugged with dirt, animal hair, etc.
      If so, replace thefilter. Turn the system off for 2-3 hours, and restart.

4.)  Check your condensing unit.
      Is the coil covered with debris (grass clippings, cottonwood, etc.)
      If so, shut the power off and vacuum or hose off (no pressure washing) the coil.

No Heat Check List

1.) Check your thermostat.  Is it set to the ‘heat’ position?
     If not, set it to ‘heat’.

2.) Check your gas shut-off switch.  Was it inadvertently closed? 
     If so, turn the valve to the ‘on’ position. 
    (The valve is open when the lever is parallel to the pipe.)

3.) Check your circuit breaker.  Has it tripped to the ‘off’ position?
     If so, reset the circuit breaker.

4.) Check your furnace switch.  Has it been placed in the ‘off’ position?
     If so, turn it ‘on’.

5.) Check your furnace fuse.  Is it ‘blown’?
     If so, replace it.

6.) Check your furnace filter.  Is it plugged with dirt, animal hair, etc.
     If so, replace the filter.

7.) Check your furnace vent(s).
     Is it/are they blocked by ice, snow, or other obstruction.

8.) Are your thermostat settings set to the proper time/ a.m./p.m.?
